Chiang Mai prostitutes hang around Loi Kroh Road
When many think of Chiang Mai, they conjure an image of a quiet, charming mountain town up in the wilds of northern Thailand. While this is a fair appraisal when compared with noisy Bangkok and decadent Pattaya, it also has an established night scene and a fair choice of prostitutes for the average punter.
There are numerous beer bars (in select areas) and a few go go bars, along with several massage parlours and plenty of prostitutes. There is nothing on par here with the likes of Walking Street in Pattaya or Bangla Road in Phuket, but this is part of Chiang Mai’s allure. You will, however, not have a problem with finding hookers in Chiang Mai for a night of passion.
Thapae Gate could be considered the centre of town from a tourist’s point of view, and just south of hear is where most of the beer bars and bar girls are. Loi Kroh Road runs east of the celebrated city moat and has the best choice of bars and girls. Though they’re not up to Bangkok standard, the girls here are up for it and are certainly not as expensive as in the capital.
The first 50m or so of Loi Kroh Road (leading off Kotchasan (moat) Road) is where most beer bars reside. You can bounce from one to the next as most have at least half a dozen girls in. Linda’s is one of the busiest, with over a dozen girls later on, but is also pushy with buying drinks.
Meeting horny local girls for free
Most bachelors visiting Thailand opt for the easy solution of visiting go go and girlie bars, but there are also lots of regular girls who aren't prostitutes but keen on meeting foreigners for a fling. This road eventually leads onto the Night Bazaar road, Chang Khlan Road, which is to the east. On the way are beer bars and massage shops, along with genuine pubs for a hassle-free beer. The Chiang Mai Entertainment Centre is also on this road (about 200m before the Night Bazaar); an arcade featuring 20 or more girlie bars.
These, along with a section of Moon Muang (opposite where the Loi Kroh bars are) are the most obvious bars for prostitution in Chiang Mai for tourists. In among them are Chiang Mai’s go go bars. There are just three of these and the girls are more expensive. Freelancing prostitutes tend to hang around the Thapae Gate area later at night, plus they also mill along Loi Kroh Road and in the night clubs, such as Spicy.
How does it all work?
Chiang Mai prostitutes are mostly picked up from the beer bars on Loi Kroh Road. These girls are easy to snag and it typically goes that you sit in whatever bar takes your fancy, order a beer and start chatting to the girls. They will actually start talking to you, but don’t feel obliged with buying them drinks or going with the first one that comes along.
If you like a particular one, buy her a drink (helps them relax) and then she’ll more than likely ask to go back to your hotel. When she does, ask how much. Bar girls in Chiang Mai are usually 1,000 baht for short-time and 1,500 to 2,000 baht all night. You will also need to pay the bar fine to release her from the bar. This is between 300 and 500 baht depending on the bar.
The go go bars are 1,500 baht for short time and as much as 2,500 or 3,000 baht all night, plus 500 baht bar fine. Girls on the street (freelancers) can be anywhere from 500 baht for short-time to 1,500 baht all night.
