Hua Hin is not exactly renowned for its pumping nightlife or flotilla of glitzy go go bars, yet it does have variety. In and around the red light area of the resort are numerous beer bars and regular bars as well as live music venues and the odd disco. There’s something for all, including a bit of filth.
Although the emphasis is definitely on families and retirees, Hua Hin has literally dozens of girlie bars, so there is plenty of choice. However, there are no go go bars in Hua Hin and the ladies here are not quite as appealing as the best of Bangkok and Pattaya. They are typically older and not as fit.
In addition, most bars are of the standard unit ‘shoebox’ variety, lined up against one another along the main pussy haven of Soi Bintabaht. Associated side streets, like Poon Suk Road and Selakam Road, have some higher quality bars with good sound systems and pool tables. You’ll find expat tourist bars in these areas, such as Johnnie Walkers and the Jungle Juice Bar.
There is also a bit of a club scene in Hua Hin, although these are typically contained within the better hotels. The Hilton, for example, has a very popular disco downstairs lying opposite the eastern entrance of Soi Bintabaht. It gets busy every night with tourists, expats and prostitutes.
As well as the general beer bar girls strewn about the business end of Hua Hin night life – that is, around the square between Bintabaht and Selakam – there is also some action up around the Hua Hin Night Market. Restaurants and bars are behind the stalls, while girlie bars are tucked along Prapokklao Road and Soi 70.
You can also enjoy kinky massage in out of the way places on Petchkasem Road and behind the railway line. There is also a gay massage sauna on Naret Damri Road, to boot, along with ladyboy bars and cabaret.
